Glazes

Glazing is a complex process involving chemistry and skill. And sometimes some good luck. The type of kiln and the clay body used determine how a glaze will turn out in the end. Here are some of the surfaces I can achieve. If you’re interested in undertaking a commission, this page can be of use. Please note, glaze effects and clays are subject to change so this is a guide only and a starting point. I predominantly use an electric kiln and occasionally gas kiln. Images below are all fired in an electric kiln. Bespoke glazes can be created for a fee and subject to scale of commission. Please get in touch to discuss a commission via email.
